Starting point for Mayarock
Look for the c-2 sign of the Iriomote cat to mark the entrance to Mayarock Waterfall. The entrance can be difficult to find, but there is a sign for the entrance permit at the entrance.
Hiking trail to Mayarock
Compared to Geta Falls, the trail to Mayarock is relatively easy to climb. However, as it is a trek through the river, be sure to choose appropriate shoes. At the beginning of the trail, you will encounter a beautiful natural pool where you can take a dip.
To reach Mayarock Waterfall, simply follow the pink markers. However, there is one point at a fork in the river where it can be difficult to see the markers, so be careful.
After about 40 minutes, you will come across a fork in the river. There is a pink marker in the direction straight ahead, but do not go straight ahead. Instead, go to the right. If you go straight ahead, you will end up at Yutun Falls.
After that, you can easily follow the markers to reach the waterfall in about 10-15 minutes. There is a pool at the base of the waterfall, which is very refreshing. Be sure to enjoy it safely without any accidents.
